The Safekey: Saving Lives Through Design

The leading cause of car accidents in America: teenagers.

The Safekey is a two-key system that allows parents to restrict the performance of the car when their teenager is behind the wheel.
This is a thorough overhaul of a design that Travis Vogel and I worked on more than a decade ago. The original concept was given an award at the 1999 New York Auto Show GNYADA Smart Technology and Safe Design Competition (sponsored by Volvo & Mitsubishi).
